SpheriTech goes from strength to strength

Spheritech, founded in June this year has now secured significant external investment following filing of a new patent on novel spherical particles and processes for manufacture.   The CEO and founder of SpheriTech, Don Wellings stated that “This new investment will allow us to progress the development and commercialisation of our novel platform technology for spherical particle design.  The polymeric media we are developing are applicable across a range of industries including solid phase synthesis of peptides and DNA; enzyme immobilisation, affinity chromatography and cell culture to name a few”.  The company has also entered into a collaborative development program with the University of Liverpool to assess applicability the new technology for Stem Cell culture.  The company, which already offers consultancy, contract synthesis and preparative HPLC services, is aiming to launch the novel polymeric media for a selection of applications by the second quarter of 2010.
